It's ALL about B-I-N-G-O!

Yes it's true. I am hooked on bingo!

I remember working at the Palace Indian casino in Lemoore. During the monthly employee meetings we would play bingo and win prizes. I was clueless to the bingo lingo - 6 pack, small picture frame, etc.
Since all the retirees are RV'ing it Key West, we have bingo at the base's beachfront bar, Sunset Lounge. It is sponsored by MWR and the Chief Petty Officers Association. Now you know where I am every Thursday night.

I was a winner until my friend Julie cursed me. Three weeks in a row I won! Two weeks I won the "Crazy L" game consecutively. Thought my name and the game's name had something to do w/ my winning but that superstition hasn't panned out all that well. :) However the jackpot was $75/each. I won one $25 jackpot as well.

I have had a few friends join me in bingo but Julie has been my constant weekly bingo companion. Julie worked w/ me at US Airways and her full-time job is a FBI analyst (so I don't mess with her). She tells me I am a jackpot hog! How dare she!

She's just jealous because she hasn't been winning. She finally did win one jackpot of $25 and had to share it with 6 others ($3.57pp)!!! Poor Julie. Perhaps that's her karma for cursing me. LOL

And yes even for Valentine's I will be at bingo. George is working his part-time "fuel farm" job so I will not have my own personal cabana boy this week.

Who would have ever thought I would be hooked on bingo and become a pro at the bingo lingo!

Keywe & her "Mugatu" outfit and Eileen Gilchrist & Bob

This post was originally entered on 1/4/08 but I couldn't figure out how to edit the post to upload the photo so now I have to delete and retype...oh well...still learning.

So now we can relate to the rest of the US. It was actually cold here in Key West. We tied a record for the low being 48. I know, I know...you are all weeping for us. :)

It has been windy here too - 36+mph. Reminds me of VA's Noreasters. It made it feel that much colder!

I mention the weather...because this morning we decided both dogs needed to walk. We weren't sure if Keywe could make even a half mile. I put her in a sweater that we so graciously received from Glen and Kirk Klawitter. Didn't think I'd ever need it here...ha! Kewye reminded me of Will Farrell, Mugatu, in "Zoolander." It was too funny! Oh the things we do for our dogs!!

And yesterday(Thurs 1/3) we said goodbye to George's HS friend, Eileen and her beau, Bob. We are so glad they came down and that we were able to spend so much time w/ them. Now it is our turn to visit the Denver,CO/Laramie, WY area.

11/18/2006

We decided to celebrate my bday on Saturday. We went to an upscale restaurant, Louie's Backyard, which is right on the water. We were early for our reservation so we enjoyed a drink on the "After Deck." The food was wonderful and it was a nice night to sit outside.

We met up w/ some of my airline friends at Aqua, the drag queen bar. Harry had been drinking since 10am so he didn't stay long. As well as Steve had the same idea as Harry so he didn't last long either. Pretty entertaining here in KW. :) Julie, Bob, and Chrissy joined us too. We watched some of the show which has changed since the last time we were there. We FINALLY got to see Randy perform as Cher. He truly is fantastic!!

Chrissy, George and I proceeded along Duval. Chrissy is very well endowed so it was pretty entertaining to hear and watch all the men as we strolled along. We ended up at Durty Harry's and met up w/ a few marines from our friend Charlie Clark's squadron out of Beaufort. Small world. After a few more drinks and jello shots we headed over to Sloppy Joe's. Funny that that was the first time I have been in the place since we've been down here. We tend to avoid the real touristy places. Had a great time w/ the live band but by 2am we were done and hailed our taxi home.

We both had a great time.
